I created this fun pair of unicorn slippers for an exhibit in Waynesville, NC called Textures. I thought the unicorn image was fun, particularly with the different views, and wanted to capture the furriness of children’s slippers against the embroidered imagery.
I also experimented with lusters on these, which create a shimmery, two-toned look where it was applied.
I initially called these, Moths in My Favorite Slippers, but during the exhibition I learned that most people didn’t understand the idea of Moths attacking our favorite stored clothing. So I renamed them.
