Dori Settles is a familiar name to many of you. She is a long-time FAAA member who, over the years, has contributed as both an exhibiting and teaching artist at Gallery 92 West. Her home and studio are now in the mountains of North Carolina where she continues to embrace various mediums to convey her messages.

Featured Photo: The Playground
For this exhibit, I decided to set up a playground to represent all children through these shoes.
As parents we often have stronger memories of our children, their friends, and our friends’ children. Perhaps a pair in this collection reminds you of something funny, or an important event or vacation.
The swing is a memorial.
Unfortunately, there are too many places to fit on the swing. Some of the shoes were created with the war in Ukraine, or Gaza in mind. Others I created thinking about the children who have experienced school shootings, Sandy Hook is only one.
